Hi,

I'm Mark. I'm from Groton and have been a practicing Realtor since 1999. I will be adding to this page as I get the opportunity.

For now, I'll just tell you I'm the second child (a twin) of Lt. Colonel Dennis and Lynne Kavanagh, and spent my childhood in numerous places most notably Germany, California, Virginia, Florida, Arizona, and Massachusetts, though there were a few others.

I attended Groton-Dunstable for my final three years of High School, where I played Soccer & Basketball, ran track, and performed the duties of class president my senior year.

After High School I left for Saint Mary's College of Maryland where I played four years of Soccer for the Seahawks and earned a degree in English/Journalism.

After graduating from SMC I spent a few years working for Eckerd Youth Alternatives as a Counselor/Teacher. I lived in Colebrook, NH up near the Canadian border with between 10-12 Youth at Risk at a time in a year round residential wilderness environment, where I was afforded the opportunity to play the role of authority figure/friend to some great kids. We took month long river and backpacking trips, built our own shelters, and conquered many a ropes/challenge course.

In 1997 I took a position with EYA as a supervisor at another camp in Manson NC, where I was fortunate enough to meet my wife (we got married on Cape Cod in October 2002). I left Manson after a year and spent much of the year 1998 traveling the country backpacking and enjoying a bit of what the U.S. has to offer, including an extended stint in San Diego California where I briefly earned a living as an elementary teacher, before returning to MA.

A few other things that I have dabbled in during my career are newspaper reporter, canoe guide, team development consultant and substitute teacher. In fact you can still find me on the river teaching environmental science with Nashoba Paddler from time to time, or traveling the country with Leading Challenges facilitating ropes courses for team development and management seminars.

Real Estate has been my full time occupation since 1999. I am a certified Buyers Representative, a member of the National Association, the Massachusetts Association and the Northeast Association of Realtors. I am a licensed Broker in Massachusetts and New Hampshire and have served as a member on the Professional Standards and Ethics Board as well as the NEAR Gala Committee & the MAR Technology committee.  I have been the acting General Manager of Apple Country Realty, Inc. since September of 2003.  I am also a Massachusetts Notary Public.

I focus a good deal of energy on marketing through technology (hence this website), but more importantly I try to educate my customers and clients as well as possible so that they, hopefully you, can make intelligent and informed decisions when buying or selling real estate.

I look forward to hearing from you and getting to know you.

Slainte.
